Light Iron CEO, Michael Cioni will be at the Association of University Technology Managers Annual Meeting for the panel titled "The Great Digital Divide: Innovation and Commercialization of Digital Technologies in the 21st Century".

Panel description:
More and more, new technologies are digitally-based technologies delivering services to satisfy needs that did not exist a few years earlier. Entertainment services, information services and business services are just some of the services in which these developments are most prevalent.  Many such technologies are developed by a new breed of entrepreneur. They are often undergraduate students or graduate students, who sometimes develop the technologies without traditional sources of research funding.  But how can this group collaborate with the TTO if it is unclear if the TTO can help them or add value? This educational track will discuss how the TTO can identify and assist these new entrepreneurs. Forgoing these opportunities or passing on these technologies, can be potentially detrimental to the university: "the one that got away." Discuss how these technologies may be valued, protected and commercialized. Participants from the entertainment industry and the gaming industry will discuss these issues from the business perspective.
