Evening Dailies Coordinator (Los Angeles)

Provide support for the dailies team during off-hours and ensure a smooth transition into the evening dailies shift in the Los Angeles location as well as remote help if needed with other dailies locations/ cities. Interact with clients and operators to ensure realistic expectations and satisfaction. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with excellent people skills and attention to detail. The successful candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently and be flexible to quickly switch priorities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Interact and collaborate with client editorial and production teams, acting as the LI dailies team’s point of contact during off-hours
  • Coordinate after-hours media drop-offs and pick-ups and start transfers for Dailies Operators
  • Assist with creation of workflow documentation per specifications provided by Dailies Producer
  • Assist with work-order creation and billing for dailies work
  • Schedule and participate in workflow calls and pre-production workflow meetings
  • Communicate details of each shift to the dailies teams ensuring seamless handoffs

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • General knowledge of digital cinema cameras (e.g., DXL, ARRI Alexa, Panasonic Varicam) and their workflows
  • General knowledge of transcoding software (e.g., Colorfront, Resolve, RedCine-X, Compressor)
  • General knowledge of edit platforms (e.g., Avid Media Composer, Apple Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, and team-based environment
  • Proven customer-service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong knowledge of both Mac and Windows operating systems
  • Ability to work flexible shifts (OT, extended hours, and weekend work will be required on occasion)

Evening Editor (New York)

The role of our Evening Editor will be to work with our Clients, Producers, Colorists, and Engineers to support a custom workflow tailored to meet the needs of the project specifications. The qualified applicant will be ambitious, self-motivated and able to work on a variety of projects and platforms to complete each project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conform episodic, theatrical and short form projects from a variety of sources
  • Review and ensure that all elements meet technical specifications
  • Work unsupervised and supervised with Clients, Studio Personnel and Filmmakers
  • Create opticals and 2D VFX as required
  • Work closely with in house producers and colorists to meet deadlines and complete work orders accurately. Manage time and escalate issues outside of conform scope
  • Communicate effectively on progress and completion of each project
  • Operate different tools to complete each conform task

 

Required Skills/Experience:

  • A complete understanding of file based work flows, color space, and codecs
  • Avid, Final Cut, Premiere, Flame, Blackmagic Resolve, and After Effects.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a professional post production finish environment

The Media Archivist is an integral part of the Archive department, overseeing all aspects of archive: Verification, pulls, and final DI archives, as well as a small bit of server and storage management. Applicants should already have at least a cursory understanding of the skills listed below.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills and incredible attention to detail.  The successful candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently and be flexible to quickly switch priorities as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform data verification of final archives of camera negative both delivered from set and archived in-house
  • Communicate with in-house and on-set technicians to address issues and resolve them
  • Restore selected material from existing archives for VFX pulls and conform turnovers
  • Archive final picture master deliverables to a variety of client specifications
  • Manage online media storage across SANs and NASs
  • Report/track bugs and crashes of software/hardware
  • Test new software and hardware
  • All other duties as assigned

Evening Production Coordinator (New York)

The role of the Production Coordinator is to execute tasks dictated by the Production team and Operations to help complete each project.  The Coordinator will be handed daily duties to follow through into the evening.  Additionally, they will work independently on long term projects.  The Production Coordinator will collaborate with the Producers, Operations, etc. to ensure client needs are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, conform, data I/O, color correction and final deliverables for multiple finish, dailies and offline projects
  • Work with the Production team to take over projects, manage sessions and oversee the product entering and leaving the facility during the evening
  • Monitor, track, troubleshoot, and communicate project progress including details to the Production and Management teams
  • Interact with client producers, directors, cinematographers, editor and other contacts as a representative of the LI Production Team
  • Schedule, coordinate and be the main contact for all out of house client screenings
  • Assist with large projects (ie. communicating with staff, purchasing, assisting tracking costs)
  • Communicate with and facilitate LI Marketing needs (ie. receiving, organizing and distributing marketing materials)
  • Act as liaison with night maintenance staff. Tasks to be communicated by GM
  • Assist with the hiring and coordination of Interns

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Basic understanding of theatrical post production practices, and techniques
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven and team-based environment
  • Attention to detail, ability to learn basics of managing each evenings requests to completion and strong communication skills
  • Self-motivated, ambitious, ability to multi-task
  • 1 year experience of entry level production environment
